Self-Reflection: New Media Tools

I believe it's been a mix of everything I've learned so far that helped me to create projects this month that were more "pro-looking" than they otherwise would have been.  From past projects in previous courses to the curation of assets within this class, I was able to put everything together to find things that worked better, and use new media tools to get me there. I definitely appreciate all the links provided to us through the MCBS Symbaloo web mix. It made finding what I wanted and needed so much easier knowing that they were higher quality than I would have used. But I will go on to say that I don't necessarily believe anything I created in this class are ones that I want to keep. They definitely still need more work, but they help to show where I'm starting so that in the future I can look back on them and see where I've gone. Gener Almestica Wk2 Digital Story Gener, you did a great job with this Digital Story project. I personally really enjoyed the music that was added because I thought that it fit well with your voice, your topic, and overall fit with how it built and escalated. It really made me look back on my own project and my choice of music and overall how I could have gone about it a bit differently or overall how I even access free music for personal use. I also enjoyed all of your photos, but I would suggest finding a way to expand the photos and have them all fill the screen, that way the viewer could be even more immersed the your story. I also felt that at some points there were a few awkward pauses, as though the entire audio recording was done in one go following the predetermined lengths of the slides. Perhaps shortening certain slides to fit the audio narrative could help keep continuity flowing and erase those moments altogether! I was wondering where you got some of your tournament...

Wk 3 Digital Storytelling Challenge Video The apps we used to collaborate were Google Drive and standard group chat through texts. We all have class together everyday so we spent most of our time speaking about what to do in person. But Google Drive came in handy because we were all on a strict schedule on our personal lives so it allowed us to access the video files needed when we were open to put them together and finish our projects away from each other.  Individual Roles: Gener Almestica -  Director, Video Editor, Lead Actor Alexis Aho -  Director of Photography, Lead Writer Ajay Bahtt -  Audio Producer, Actor Overall I think we did a pretty good job! Full Sail has a great knowledge on how to deliver a message in a way that focuses on the human connection. Through their video, they established that the school and it's curriculum is focused on providing their students with the best possible knowledge and tools for their given future careers. They put this information against visuals of students physically handling these programs and tools, which are real world studios and sets. The video also shows students working together, furthering their network circles and overall showing the type of community that the school offers as well. What I love most about this video is how everything is tied in together in one cohesive story. Sure their main promotion is the lunchbox system, but it's not the only item they are promoting, and instead just showcase it as a byproduct of what you will gain as a whole when you join the school and its programs. For this week’s project, I'm most excited to shoot something that is original and unique. Throughout my time at Full Sail thus far I've done a lot of voiceover narration which I've definitely enjoyed but there were only a few moments where I used my own images or videos to the project. So, I am very interested in producing something that is completely new with images or video that we make for this project specifically. I'm also excited to work more with editing and audio production for our project, although that's not my position within my team, but it's still a great opportunity to learn from my group. For my team, I ’ ll be taking the role as production coordinator as well as writer. We tried to give roles that not only were we comfortable with, but that played with our strengths.
