Wk4 Exploration: RISE Peer Review



Gener, you did a great job with this Digital Story project. I personally really enjoyed the music that was added because I thought that it fit well with your voice, your topic, and overall fit with how it built and escalated. It really made me look back on my own project and my choice of music and overall how I could have gone about it a bit differently or overall how I even access free music for personal use. I also enjoyed all of your photos, but I would suggest finding a way to expand the photos and have them all fill the screen, that way the viewer could be even more immersed the your story. I also felt that at some points there were a few awkward pauses, as though the entire audio recording was done in one go following the predetermined lengths of the slides. Perhaps shortening certain slides to fit the audio narrative could help keep continuity flowing and erase those moments altogether! I was wondering where you got some of your tournament photos? For myself (someone who knows nothing about gaming and gaming tournaments) some of the big tournament venue photos were lost of me. Maybe in the future you could use some more personal photos, or even some more specific tournament photos to showcase the different tournaments and even how those venues are set up. That definitely would have been interesting to see!

Wk4 Synthesis: Curating Through MCBS

I believe it's been a mix of everything I've learned so far that helped me to create projects this month that were more "pro-looking" than they otherwise would have been.  From past projects in previous courses to the curation of assets within this class, I was able to put everything together to find things that worked better, and use new media tools to get me there. I definitely appreciate all the links provided to us through the MCBS Symbaloo web mix. It made finding what I wanted and needed so much easier knowing that they were higher quality than I would have used. But I will go on to say that I don't necessarily believe anything I created in this class are ones that I want to keep. They definitely still need more work, but they help to show where I'm starting so that in the future I can look back on them and see where I've gone. Wk 2 Analysis: Brands & The Human Connection/ Curating 3

Dove Beauty Sketches “You’re More Beautiful Than You Think”, was a video produced by Dove that took the internet by storm back in 2013. It was a very successful ad campaign because it was beautifully shot, had really emotional music, but it also touched on a very prominent and important message about women within society.  This video was meant to touch women of all ages. Although the women in the video were adult females possibly between the ages of 25-45, the message can still clearly resonate with teens and young adults too. Today women are habitually chopped down to small versions of who they are by others, which makes them think less of themselves altogether. Through this video, women were able to get a chance at really seeing themselves through the eyes of strangers, and not the mainstream media or society at large.
