Fictitious Site launch

For this activity, we were to go ahead with our proposals and to create the website for our fictitious client, Reel Deal Tacos. Taking into consideration the sitemaps and wireframes we set up in our proposals, we were to create the website and ensure its functionality, aesthetic, and overall usability.

  • Were you able to meet all the provisions outlined in your proposal?
For everything I outlined in my proposal I was able to create it on the WIX platform. I was able to almost replicate my sitemap and wireframes, and I believe that it all works together relatively well.
  • Did you propose or promise something you could not deliver?
In my wireframes, I designed the header to look different than what I was actually able to create. I found that WIX wouldn't allow for certain movements or changes to media and design so ultimately I had to stick with something similar.
  • What was the most challenging part of the process for you?
The most challenging part of the process was having to switch from the two WIX platforms to accomplish certain tasks. Ultimately I started out using their ADI editor which does everything for you, but there were certain things that you can't do within those parameters compared to their WIX Editor. I ended up switching to try and accomplish those changes, and ultimately had some struggles overcoming certain changes in how the system worked, and how to manually rearrange and edit portions of the site.
  • Where would you like to go deeper?
I'd like to continue with working on the color scheme. I tried to maintain a beach/ocean aesthetic but I'm not sure how I feel about the colors in the end. I'd also like to continue working on the images and galleries, to try and crop them to look better. I found with the editor it wouldn't let you crop them within a gallery, so I'll have to find a workaround somehow!
