Draft Portfolio Site
My Website!
So this activity was taking what we researched and learned from our last activity, and putting it to use! We created our own personal portfolio sites to showcase our experiences, our goals, and ultimately who we are to set ourselves up for our future careers.
I'm pretty happy with what I created considering it's all very basic and can change in the future. I think that my color scheme is really nice and although I love it, I do see how it may not be exactly what is best for my image or brand. But overall, I enjoy the look and feel of it right now so I'll continue to sleep on it before making any more big decisions!
In the future I definitely see myself utilizing and updating this website, although probably not how most of my instructors would want me to. Considering the field of work I'd like to become involved in, some of the required pages don't necessarily help me to be there, but updating and showcasing my projects and work could make an impact.
The area of my portfolio site that I feel is the strongest is my homepage, mainly because I showcase my strongest and most recent work, I give my audience a taste of who I am through the books that I've been reading and the books that I like (or am attempting) to write, and then of course providing my social media links. I feel it makes the biggest impression on someone, and I like that.
The area I believe needs work is my "CV" area. I don't really see the point in adding any positions or details of my educational history again, considering what I'd like to do as my future career, as in most cases a lot of that will get delegated to my projects area. But I may be enlightened to include other information depending on what others expect from me.
Three goals I have for myself for my website as I move forward would be to possibly revisit my color scheme, find other projects or works to include that I think are relevant, and to get better and more personal photos to showcase on the website.
