Content Strategy

Our first lesson for this week is focused on how a media strategist can develop a successful and complete game plan for a company to ensure that their content is being received in the way that they want it to be. In which case, we were given the task of watching a Lynda tutorial all focused on the different scenarios one might find themselves in when trying to produce such a strategy. By actively participating in this activity, we can gain a more in-depth knowledge of the content strategy process, and ultimately how we can apply ourselves and these techniques in future projects and jobs. 

I really enjoyed the idea of creating personas for your audience, and how ultimately by doing so you can find better ways to understand how your traffic may respond to your mission, company, or overall product/service. I also really enjoyed learning about qualitative and quantitative audits, because these processes allow for employees and content creators to know what they need to be doing and how to be doing it to ensure success for their projects. Another process I enjoyed learning about was how your physical personality really reflects on your media personality. Although this is something that may seem for some as common sense but depending on what your product is, some companies may not really think about how they themselves add or take away from their brand image.

After watching this tutorial I would still really like to learn more about the creating of audience personas and the production of empathy maps. Ultimately the idea is so new to me, that I would still like to understand the process more fully, and ultimately how someone goes about creating such content.

I think that for the future projects within this course, I can and will apply everything I've learned to ensure that I'm taking enough time and putting in enough effort before actually creating anything. This way, I can be as prepared as possible with as much information as I need to reinforce any ideas I may come up with.
